Meals On Wheels hosts several fundraisers throughout the year to raise awareness and support for our agency.  We hope that you'll take part in one of these opportunities and join us in supporting Buncombe County seniors.

Polar Bear Plunge

2nd Annual Polar Bear Plunge

This annual event held in January and hosted by the Asheville Racquet & Fitness Club invites individuals and local celebrities to "take the plunge" to help feed the elderly homebound of Asheville and Buncombe County.

The 2nd Annual Polar Bear Plunge held on January 23, 2010 raised over $10,382 for Meals On Wheels!  Our thanks to the AR&FC and these wonderful sponsors!

Treat yourself, your customers and/or your coworkers to a gourmet catered lunch delivered by Meals On Wheels.  This is not your typical lunch.  Some of our past catering partners have included Ridgecrest Conference Center, Outback Steakhouse and 12-Bones Smokehouse.

Meals are $12.00 each and include an entrĂ©e, dessert and drink.  Best of all, $6.00 from every meal goes to support Meals On Wheels.

Feel the burn and help support the homebound elderly of Buncombe County.  The 3rd Annual Wheel Ride for Food was held on Saturday, May 29th, 2010 and a great success.  This annual family-friendly event includes a Full Century (100-mile), Metric Century (65-mile) and a Metric Half-Century (32-mile) ride and is part of the Mountain Sports Festival.  Click the logo for more information!

 

Plate Expectations Charity Auction

This year's Plate Expectations will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Asheville's new Pack's Tavern.   This annual auction will feature live entertainment and several themed packages that offer merchandise for outdoor enthusiasts, new parents/grand parents, discover Asheville, home & garden, romance, travel/vacation and so much more!  Be sure to get your tickets early to one of Asheville's favorite fundraising galas!
