2010 Wheel Ride for Food
Metric Century & Metric Half-Century Road Ride
Wheel Ride for Food Cycling Event to benefit Meals On Wheels of Asheville & Buncombe County
Saturday, May 29, 2010 - 8:30 a.m.
Carrier Park, Asheville, NC
The Annual Wheel Ride For Food is more than just a bike ride through some of the most beautiful communities and back roads that Western NC has to offer. It's a fundraiser with 100% of proceeds going to support Meals On Wheels of Asheville-Buncombe County.
Each day, nearly 500 homebound seniors eagerly look out their windows waiting for a visit from Meals On Wheels. For many, it's the highlight of an otherwise lonely day. Meals On Wheels brings food, friendship and the opportunity for them to remain independent and live in their own home. They need our support because everyone deserves to grow old with dignity!
New for 2010 - Ride for Food and Ride for Free!
This year, we would like to invite everyone to ride for food by becoming a fundraiser through FirstGiving. Online fundraising is a lot easier than you think. Seriously!
- It's Quick...Takes less than 10 minutes to set up your own personal webpage that invites your friends, family & others to help sponsor you
- It's Easy... No money to collect, No lists to keep up with, No paperwork to handle. It's easy to send out requests and you know how much $$$ you've raised. Works with Email - Facebook - Twitter - your own webpage.
- It's Fun!...Really, we wouldn't kid you! There's No embarrassing requests or uneasy feelings about asking your friends and family for $$$. Just let people know you're riding in the 2010 WRFF ride and ask them to sponsor you.
Just register for the Wheels Ride For Food and sign up at the same time to be a fundraiser.
Riders who register and commit to raising at least $125.00 (The cost of a month's worth of meals) get to ride for FREE!!!
