Meals On Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County is pleased to announce that the 2008 Plate Expectations Charity Auction was a huge success!!! This year’s event raised over $88,000 to support the programs and services that Meals On Wheels provides to area homebound seniors every day.
We’re grateful to our community and everyone who took part in this year’s event. We’d like to extend our thanks to both of our Signature Sponsors, UBS The Himan-Brookshire Group and the Asheville Automobile Dealers Association, as well as all of our Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsors. Please take a moment to visit our sponsor’s page and support the businesses that support our local community!
To those individuals and businesses who donated items and services to be auctioned off – THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!! We appreciate the strong show of support from members of the local arts community who donated artwork and handcrafts that were stunningly beautiful. Thanks also to CitiStop who generously donated $500 in gasoline as a prize for our Heads or Tails game. Because you chose to get personally involved, not only will someone receive a nutritious lunchtime meal and a friendly visit from one of our volunteers, but their family members will have peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are being visited each day!
A big thank you goes out to our volunteers who helped collect items, hang posters, sell tickets, plan and set-up the event and even worked the night of the event. We could not begin to host this type of fundraising event without your help and constant support!!! Thanks to Pam Ball and the staff of The Country Club of Asheville. The food and facilities were first class and the staff made every guest feel welcome! Our appreciation also goes out to everyone who attended the auction. Thanks to all of you, the 2008 Plate Expectations was a great success. We appreciate your support and generosity!
We look forward to seeing you at Plate Expectations 2009!
For our seniors,
Dianne Trammel
