Santa for Seniors is a Success!

Another Holiday season has come and gone and the 2009 Santa For Seniors Project was a great success!  Thanks to the help of so many businesses, civic groups and individuals who took part in this year's project, over 550 gift bags and shoe boxes were stuffed full of blankets, gloves, hats, afghans, socks, toiletries and personal care items, note cards, puzzle books, jewelry, homemade crafts ... the list goes on and on!!! 

Every one of our seniors was delighted to receive their holiday package and many expressed their thanks . . .

   "I can use absolutely everything in the bag!  Obviously, it was thoughtfully put together.  I have my hat on now because it's chilly in the house and the hat makes me warmer."    Barbara, 78-years old

86-year old Mary started weeping when she received the bag this year.  "Meals On Wheels always remembers me - God has truly blessed me!  And this bag was even better than last Christmas!!!"

"Those are all things that I really needed.  My daughter lives an hour and a half from here and can't shop for me too often.  When I run out of toiletries, now I have extras to fall back on.  I wish I could write a thank you note to Carolyn and every one of the groups on the list, but I can't see to write anymore.  Would you please tell them 'thank you' for me?"  Rose, 81-years old
