Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the “life-line” of the Meals On Wheels program. Community volunteers deliver approximately 105,000 meals per year. Over the past 32 years, Meals On Wheels has served hundreds of thousands of meals to people in need.
Volunteers provide the human touch that means so much to the homebound person. Presently, more than 300 active volunteers serve an average of 550 meals per day on 38 routes throughout Buncombe County. Many Asheville city routes are picked up at our office, while meals bound for outlying areas are picked up at one of 13 drop-off points county-wide.
