Our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the governing body of Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe. Board members are Individuals who volunteer to sit on the board and are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities. Board members meet monthly to discuss and vote on the organization's affairs and provide support to the Executive Director and other leaders.

  • Donna Mann-Belt, Board Chair

    Donna is a retired geriatric social worker. She taught family medicine residents at a University teaching hospital. As part of community medicine, she delivered meals to residents for 25 years! Currently, she volunteers with Meals on Wheels of Asheville & Buncombe County and delivers meals every Tuesday in North Asheville.

  • Belinda Moss, Vice Chair

    Belinda Moss has been a board member of Meals on Wheels since July 2020 and is an active volunteer, delivering meals every Wednesday to home-bound seniors in West Asheville and assisting with fundraising initiatives. Originally from the UK, she has lived in Asheville since February 2017 after retiring from a 26-year career with American Express, where she held roles in Marketing, HR, Real Estate, and Administration in London, Salt Lake City, and New York City. Belinda enjoys life in Asheville, volunteering at Meals on Wheels and Brother Wolf Animal Shelter, where she walks and occasionally fosters dogs.

  • Rich Fellrath, Secretary

    Dr. Richard Fellrath joined the Meals on Wheels Board in September 2023. A retired Orthopedic Surgeon, he grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma for both undergraduate and medical school. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts, where he met his wife Christine, a retired critical care nurse and Brother Wolf volunteer. He completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, publishing extensively on spinal conditions. Dr. Fellrath specialized in spinal afflictions in Oklahoma and assisted the Workers Compensation Court of Oklahoma. He then served as Chief of Orthopedics at the Veterans Administration Hospital System in Tampa, Florida, and was the residency site director for the University of South Florida Orthopedic Surgery Residency program. He transferred to the Asheville VAMC in 2010 as Assistant Chief of Surgery and started a Spine Surgery Program.

  • Pam Kellam, Treasurer

    Pam Kellam has been delivering meals to seniors in North Asheville since March 2022 and joined the board of directors in October 2022. She is a financial consultant with over thirty years of experience in corporate finance and accounting, having held leadership positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and External Reporting and Budget Manager. Pam graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting and is a CPA. Her passion for food led her to culinary school and the opening of an Italian restaurant in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, Paul. They operated the restaurant for four years before moving to Asheville in 2017. Pam and her husband enjoy the mountains and hike with their dogs daily. They have two grown children and welcomed their first grandchild in May 2022.

  • Norman Leonard

    Norman Leonard joined the Meals on Wheels Asheville Buncombe County board in July 2019. He has been an attorney with Ward and Smith, P.A., specializing in intellectual property and creditors' rights for ten years. Before law school, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for six years. Norman holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from University College London, a J.D. from Elon University School of Law, and a B.S. from Saint Mary's College of California. Originally from Northern California, he now resides in Asheville with his wife, Sonya Leonard, and is a graduate of UNC Asheville's Leadership Asheville, Class 30.

  • Dr. Cheryl Jefferson

    Dr. Cheryl Jefferson joined the Meals on Wheels Asheville Buncombe County board in March 2021. She is an award-winning communications and STEM specialist, recognized as a national Technology All-Star at the Women of Color STEM Conference. Dr. Jefferson worked in research and development for the federal government for over 38 years, providing leadership and oversight. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Leadership, an M.S. in Environmental Policy, and a Doctorate in Epidemiology, with additional training from Yale University’s Executive Education Program. Dr. Jefferson is a graduate of the Leadership Asheville Program and currently serves on its Program Development Team. She also contributes to the University of Texas, San Antonio’s Jefferson Scholars Program.

  • Cynthia Alleman

    Cynthia L. Alleman joined the Meals on Wheels Asheville Buncombe County Board in June 2021. She is the senior attorney and managing partner at the Alleman Law Firm, practicing law in Western North Carolina since 1994. Originally from Chicago, Cynthia holds a B.A. in History from Illinois Wesleyan University and a law degree from UNC Chapel Hill. She specializes in Estate Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Guardianships, and Probate/Estate Administration. Cynthia is a member of the Family Support Network at Mission Children’s Hospital and volunteers with the Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyers Program. She is a former board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Partnership for Pastoral Counseling and a former member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Asheville. In 2010, she received the William L. Thorpe Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award for North Carolina. Cynthia resides in East Asheville with her husband, daughter, and pets.

  • Marcus Goodkind

    Marcus was born and raised in South Beach and attended public schools in Miami Beach, Florida. He attended the University of Miami and earned a BS in Industrial Engineering. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the US Air Force and piloted jet bombers in the Cold War. He went to Cape Canaveral and was a Manager on all the Manned Space Programs, including Gemini, Apollo 11 and 13, and Shuttle. He founded Goodkind of Sound, traveling world wide, recording seminars and conferences that “Make a Difference.” He was inducted into his high school Hall of Fame and awarded “American Hero” by the Carolina Master Chorale. Marcus loves volunteering, delivers meals, and is on the Board of MOW and his HOA. He is married to Caroline, an Episcopal Priest. They have six children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

  • Todd Eveland

    Todd S. Eveland joined the MOW Board in September of 2023. He and his wife Pam relocated to Asheville from Chicago after a 35-year career with PepsiCo. During his tenure, he served in many capacities across the US in the Beverage Division, culminating with his last assignment where Todd was the Region Vice President for the Midwest Region, overseeing a geography of 10 states. Todd grew up in rural Wisconsin and attended Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. His interests include outdoor activities, family time, reading, investing, and volunteering. Since retiring, Todd has volunteered for Manna Foodbank and the Carolina Mtn Club, where he served on the board as the Councilor for Trail Maintenance. Todd and his wife Pam have three grown children and one granddaughter.

  • Marilyn Held

    Marilyn Held joined the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors in September 2023. In addition to service on the board, she is a meal delivery volunteer for the Arrowhead Route on Mondays. Originally from Chicago, Marilyn relocated to Madison County, where she lived and worked for 34 years. She currently resides in Asheville. Marilyn graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Medical Dietetics and an MPH in Nutrition from UNC–Chapel Hill. Her career highlights include employment at the Scotland County Health Department, Madison County Health Department, Mission Hospital, and Blue Ridge Group Homes. She became self-employed as a Consultant Dietitian in Long Term Care from 1989-2019 until she officially retired.

  • Wendy Baughman

    Wendy Baughman joined the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors in June 2024. A retired epidemiologist, Wendy led a team of scientists in CDC/Emory University School of Medicine infectious disease studies for 25 years and served on Emory's Institutional Review Board. She also taught yoga for nine years. After retiring, Wendy moved to Asheville to enjoy its beauty and be closer to her daughter. She now volunteers with Meals on Wheels, delivering meals each Wednesday to seniors on Route 3. Wendy finds the interaction with seniors and staff enormously rewarding.

  • Grant Brown

    Grant Brown joined the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors in July 2024. He is a sixth-generation Western North Carolina native from northern Buncombe County and now lives in Asheville's Kenilworth neighborhood with his partner of 10 years and their dog, Sophia. A North Buncombe High School graduate, he earned his political science degree from Wake Forest University.

    With two decades of banking experience, Grant has specialized in financial analysis, commercial underwriting, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance. Since joining Park National Bank in 2008, he has managed a team of commercial underwriters, overseen audit and regulatory reviews of the commercial loan portfolio, and developed scalable processes.

    As President of the Great Smokies Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA), Grant contributes to this professional banking organization's mission of education and networking. He actively volunteers in his community, organizing Park National Bank's charitable initiatives including annual food and toy drives, United Way events, and the Children's Cancer Partners Burger Cook-off.
