Our Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the governing body of Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe. Board members are Individuals who volunteer to sit on the board and are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities. Board members meet monthly to discuss and vote on the affairs of the organization and provide support to the Executive Director and other leaders of the organization.

Donna Mann-Belt - Board Chair

Donna is a retired geriatric social worker. She taught family medicine residents at a University teaching hospital. As part of community medicine, she delivered meals to residents for 25 years! Currently, she volunteers with Meals on Wheels of Asheville & Buncombe County and delivers meals every Tuesday in North Asheville.

Norman Leonard - Vice Chair

Norman Leonard joined the Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County board of directors in July 2019.  Norman has been an attorney with Ward and Smith, P.A., for ten years.  His legal practice encompasses various intellectual property and creditors' rights matters.  Before attending law school, Norman worked in the pharmaceutical industry for six years. 

Norman holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from University College London, a J.D. from Elon University School of Law, and a Bachelor's of Science from Saint Mary's College of California.  Norman is originally from Northern California and resides in Asheville with his wife, Sonya Leonard.  He is a graduate of UNC Asheville's Leadership Asheville, Class 30.

Kathryn Coulter Rhodes - Secretary

Kathryn grew up outside of Chicago and was driven to understand a more rural perspective after a semester abroad in Mali, West Africa. After earning a B.A. in International Studies and French, she was drawn to Appalachia during a year working with a watershed restoration organization in a coal mining region of Pennsylvania through AmeriCorps VISTA. She then earned her M.A. in Geography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where her thesis explored the factors helping and hurting the ability of small-scale farmers in Burkina Faso to produce organic and Fair Trade cotton. She used her knowledge of community-based rural development domestically, leading a team of VISTA members to promote local community development and environmental stewardship across Appalachia. She combines her graduate research in West African rural livelihoods with her experience working closely with rural communities in Central Appalachia to support locally-driven community development.

Kathryn is Senior Project Manager at Rural Support Partners, focusing on strategic planning with nonprofits, community development financial institutions, and foundations working in Central Appalachia. She resides in West Asheville with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.

Pam Kellam - Treasurer

Pam Kellam has been delivering meals to seniors in North Asheville since March 2022 and she joined the board of directors in October 2022. Pam is a financial consultant with over thirty years working in corporate finance and accounting. She has held a variety of leadership and financial positions throughout her career, including Chief Financial Officer for a privately held firm, and the positions of Controller and External Reporting and Budget Manager at publicly held companies. Pam spent six years at KPMG after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She is a CPA. Pam’s passion for food led her to culinary school later in life and the opening of an Italian restaurant in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, Paul. They successfully owned and operated the restaurant for four years before moving to Asheville, NC in 2017. Pam and her husband are enjoying the mountains and take advantage of the hiking trails with their dogs every day. They have two grown children and welcomed their first grandbaby in May 2022.

Dave Cash

Dave joined the Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County board of directors in July 2019  

Dave has over 20 years of experience in every aspect of the real estate business, from investing, lending, renovating, insuring, and brokerage. He has a long record of successfully guiding clients in hundreds of real estate transactions. Dave specializes in the listing side of Broker Asheville’s real estate business, where his entrepreneurial spirit, communication, and management skills are exemplified.

A US Air Force veteran and a West Virginia State College graduate, Dave and his wife Sarah are pleased to raise their three boys in the Asheville community, having recently moved into the Kenilworth neighborhood. When Dave is not on Listing appointments, you can find him skiing, fly fishing on the Davidson River, and biking at Bent Creek with his family. Additionally, Dave graduated from UNC Asheville's Leadership Asheville, Class 37.

Arminda Joseph

Arminda Joseph joined the Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County board of directors in July 2018.

Arminda is currently a decision support Senior Financial Analyst with CarePartners Rehabilitation, Home Health, Adult Care, and Hospice in Asheville, North Carolina. She has worked in healthcare business intelligence and finance roles for the past eight years in Western North Carolina, Northeast Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia and is knowledgeable about the current state of healthcare in the region. She is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), issued by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), and currently serves on the board of directors as Webmaster for the Catawba Valley IMA chapter.

Arminda is a native of Northeast Tennessee and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in May 2009. She currently resides in the Asheville area with her family.

Belinda Moss

Belinda Moss has been a board member of Meals on Wheels since July 2020.  She is also an active volunteer with them, delivering meals every Wednesday to home-bound seniors in West Asheville, as well as helping out with Meals on Wheels fundraising initiatives.

Originally from the UK, Belinda has lived in Asheville since February 2017, when she and her husband both retired from corporate life.  Most of Belinda’s working life was with American Express, where a 26-year career comprised roles in Marketing, HR, Real Estate, and Administration.  Initially working for American Express in London, Belinda was then able to transition to jobs in Salt Lake City and, most recently, New York City, where she lived for 18 years.

Belinda is now enjoying life in Asheville, and besides volunteering at Meals on Wheels, also volunteers at Brother Wolf Animal Shelter walking dogs and occasionally fostering dogs too.

Dr. Cheryl Jefferson

Dr. Cheryl Jefferson joined the Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County board of directors in March 2021 and is an award-winning communications and STEM specialist. She was recognized as a national Technology All-Star at the 22nd Women of Color STEM Conference. Dr. Jefferson worked for many years in research and development for the federal government and served at various levels, providing leadership and oversight. She retired from federal service after more than 38 years. Dr. Jefferson is a lifelong learner with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Science in Environmental Policy, and a Doctorate in Epidemiology. She received additional training through Yale University’s Executive Education Program. Cheryl is also a graduate of the Leadership Asheville Program. Dr. Jefferson currently serves on the Program Development Team for the Leadership Asheville Program. In Addition, Dr. Jefferson shares her time with the University of Texas, San Antonio’s Jefferson Scholars Program.

Cynthia Alleman

Cynthia L. Alleman joined the Meals on Wheels of Asheville Buncombe County Board of Directors in June 2021.

Cynthia is the Senior attorney and managing partner with the Alleman Law Firm, PLLC, and has been practicing law in Western North Carolina since 1994. Originally from the Chicago area, Cynthia received her B.A. in History, Magna Cum Laude, from Illinois Wesleyan University and earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She assists clients with Estate Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Guardianships, and Probate/Estate Administration. Currently, Cynthia is a member of the Family Support Network at Mission Children’s Hospital and a volunteer with the Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyers Program. She is also a former board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Partnership for Pastoral Counseling and a former member of Kiwanis Club of Asheville and Rotary Club of Asheville. In addition to serving the community through her volunteer work and memberships in service-oriented organizations, she received the William L. Thorpe Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award for North Carolina in 2010 for her unpaid legal service to the community. She resides in East Asheville with her husband, daughter, and pets.

Marcus Goodkind

Marcus was born and raised in South Beach and attended public schools in Miami Beach, Florida. He attended the University of Miami and earned a BS in Industrial Engineering. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the US Air Force and piloted jet bombers in the Cold War. He went to Cape Canaveral and was a Manager on all the Manned Space Programs, including Gemini, Apollo 11 and 13, and Shuttle. He founded Goodkind of Sound, traveling world wide, recording seminars and conferences that “Make a Difference.” He was inducted into his high school Hall of Fame and awarded “American Hero” by the Carolina Master Chorale. Marcus loves volunteering, delivers meals, and is on the Board of MOW and his HOA. He is married to Caroline, an Episcopal Priest. They have six children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Rich Fellrath

Dr. Richard Fellrath joined the Meals on Wheels Board in September of 2023 and is a retired Orthopedic Surgeon.  He grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma undergraduate and medical school. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts, where he met his wife, Christine, now a retired critical care nurse and Brother Wolf volunteer. He completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he published substantially on the treatment of spinal conditions, and it was then that they first discovered the Asheville area.  Dr. Fellrath returned to Oklahoma, where he specialized in adult and childhood spinal afflictions and was an ‘Amicus Curiae’ assisting the Workers Compensation Court of Oklahoma in managing complex spine cases.  He joined the Veterans Administration Hospital System in Tampa, Florida, where he was Chief of Orthopedics and the residency site director for the University of South Florida Orthopedic Surgery Residency program.  He transferred to the Asheville VAMC in 2010 as Assistant Chief of Surgery and began a Spine Surgery Program here.


Todd Eveland

Todd S. Eveland joined the MOW Board in September of 2023. He and his wife Pam relocated to Asheville from Chicago after a 35-year career with PepsiCo. During his tenure, he served in many capacities across the US in the Beverage Division, culminating with his last assignment where Todd was the Region Vice President for the Midwest Region, overseeing a geography of 10 states. Todd grew up in rural Wisconsin and attended Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. His interests include outdoor activities, family time, reading, investing, and volunteering. Since retiring, Todd has volunteered for Manna Foodbank and the Carolina Mtn Club, where he served on the board as the Councilor for Trail Maintenance. Todd and his wife Pam have three grown children and one granddaughter.

Marilyn Held

Marilyn Held joined the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors in September 2023. In addition to service on the board, she is a meal delivery volunteer for the Arrowhead Route on Mondays. Originally from Chicago, Marilyn relocated to Madison County, where she lived and worked for 34 years. She currently resides in Asheville. Marilyn graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Medical Dietetics and an MPH in Nutrition from UNC–Chapel Hill. Her career highlights include employment at the Scotland County Health Department, Madison County Health Department, Mission Hospital, and Blue Ridge Group Homes. She became self-employed as a Consultant Dietitian in Long Term Care from 1989-2019 until she officially retired.
